Hi, everyone. What I am sharing today is my experience in transferring from Division of Taguig City and Pateros in NCR to Division of Dipolog City in Region IX, Zamboanga Peninsula.
In May 2017, the pediatric cardiology doctor of my son who has Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) informed us that my son must be brought to our province for his recovery after his heart surgery. My wife and my children immediately went to our province in Zamboanga del Norte and stay there for good. They left me alone. I talked to a person whom I know who is knowledgeable about how I can transfer to our province since there is no clear instruction as I searched online on what to do. That person told me what to do as follows:
A. Write a letter of intent to transfer to the current principal stating the reasons.
B. The principal will endorse the letter to the current Division Office.
C. The current Division Office will endorse it to the Regional Office.
D. The regional office will give an endorsement letter to the Region where you want to transfer.
E. The regional office will endorse you to the division you want to transfer.
F. The Division Office will endorse you to the school nearest to you that has the vacant items.
G. The new principal will confirm if the item is still vacant. She will give a recommendation to the Division Office.
H. The new Division Office will give a letter signed by the SDS that you will be accommodated including the list of requirements to be accomplished and the first day of service at the new school.
I. You will bring a letter from SDS to the current school and get the requirements such as clearance from your Division office, last day of service which is a day before your first day in the new school, certificate of service credits, service records and etc.
I followed the instructions immediately and I was able to transfer to my preferred school in a short period of time. I start processing in the middle of June and transferred at the beginning of September. Tips: hand-carry the documents for faster transaction. I spent a lot of money only for transportation from Metro Manila to Zamboanga del Norte and vice versa.
I have no legal basis on the steps provided above but as far as my source told me that most of the teacher seeking transfer to other regions or division with valid reasons follows the same steps.
